I saw this picture for the first time about 7-8 years ago. I just couldn't believe it. You look at it, and it seems impossible, like Escher's paintings. How can there be a missing a missing square in the second graph if the geometric shapes that constitute the total triangle are identical?It took me while to figure it out. There is a perfectly reasonable explanation, it's just hidden very well from the human eye...
